⁠Foril Pepsodent Award

The FORIL AWARD 2025 introduces the Poster Presentation Award this year. Each participant can submit their best work at no additional cost. The judging panel will be comprised of experts in the field of dentistry. Poster presentations will be categorized into two groups: Case Reports and Applied Research. Within each category, there will be two participant divisions: students and dentists.

Applied Research Category

The purpose of the award is to encourage and disseminate applied research in dentistry. An award who is the primary contributor to the research and presents this as poster, at the FORIL Conference. Presentations are judged by a panel of experts in dentistry and an award is made only if it is determined a presentation demonstrates sufficient merit.

Case Report Category

The purpose of the award is to encourage and disseminate case report in dentistry. An award of who is the primary contributor to the research and presents this as poster, at the FORIL Conference. Presentations are judged by a panel of experts in dentistry and an award is made only if it is determined a presentation demonstrates sufficient merit.

  • Candidates must be a participant in the FORIL 2025 Conference. FORIL officers and scientific committee members are not eligible.
  • Candidates are responsible for presenting their research in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the FORIL Presentation Award

The poster must contain:

  1. The Top section contains the logo of FORIL 2025, affiliate(s) logo, author photo, title, author(s) name, affiliate(s) name, correspondence name.
  2. The middle part (the contents section) for:
    • The Applied research category is a scholarly work that focuses on solving specific problems or practical problems (addresses a particular issue or challenge) in education or healthcare field by applying existing theories, methods, or knowledge (utilizes empirical methods, such as experiments, case studies, surveys, or fieldwork) which has a direct and immediate application in real-world contexts (aims to provide practical outcomes, solutions, or improvements) and meant to directly benefit practitioners, policymakers, or other stakeholders. 
    • The Case Report Category is a study describes and analyzes unique or noteworthy instances involving a specific individual or a small group of individuals. It must provide detailed insights into conditions, treatments, or outcomes. It must have educational value or highlight the need for a change in clinical practice or diagnostic/prognostic approaches. The criteria of case report/case series study are; (1) Focus on a single individual or includes more than one case (usually a small number, such as 2–10 patients), (2) Includes detailed patient history and observations, (3) Highlights unique, rare, or new aspects of a condition, (4) Allows for comparisons or identification of patterns.

Technical specification for E-Poster preparation

  • Please submit your E-Poster as a 1-page PDF file in portrait orientation.
  • Font types: Arial, Calibri, Verdana Times New Roman or Helvetica fonts are recommended.
  • Font size: 11 points or larger.
  • Hyperlinks, animated images, animations and videos are not permitted.
  • Images and tables: at least 200 dpi. Good picture quality is essentials.
  • File size: less than 5 MB.

Please note that by uploading the E-Poster, you agree to having its publication in the official Conference materials, on the Conference website, and for it to be considered for an award.

Participants are required to present an original case that has not been previously published, presented in other competitions, or submitted to any journal.

If participants take part in both the Endodontic Competition (EMAS) and the Poster Award, the cases submitted must be different.

The criteria for evaluating presentations are outlined below. Each category is rated on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest score.

Applied Research

  • Research design: Validity of the research objectives
  • Analysis: Use of appropriate analytical techniques
  • Clinical Applied Significance: Assessment of probability and safety for application in clinical settings
  • Presentation: Quality of presenting skills, clarity of the poster, and depth of knowledge regarding the research

Case Reports

  • Case : Assessment of difficulties encountered
  • Treatment : Use of appropriate and advanced skills
  • Evaluation : Application of proper methods and duration
  • Presentation : Quality of presenting skills, clarity of the poster, and depth of knowledge regarding the case
